Skype rocks... · 12 July 06
Hello there again… after all this time I’m back and online again. I will be posting some stuff shortly about some new script. Anyway I wanted to let you know that I am really hyped with the new skype services.
I was trying around different Vo-IP Services and after using nikotel and sipgate I finally stuck with good old Skype.
I got myself a skypeIn Number and added the forwarding to my O2 Genion Homezone. This allows me to be reachable if I am on my Computer (local charge for caller, free for me) or on my Mobilphone if I am out having a coffee (local charges for caller, 2 cent/minute for me). Really cool.
Another neat thing is to enable automatic call acceptance and leave the office… Then call in on your SkypeIn-Number and listen too what your colleges have to say about you while your gone. ;-)
Finally my wishlist for the service:
- Add a service like Skypebutton that returns a string rather then a picture. This would be great for PHP based scripts and Flash-frontends. (Shouldn’t be that hard todo with Skype-API in place)
- I want a Flash based IM frontend (skinable) that allows my clients to write me without having to setup and download Skype.
