What a big surprise Textpattern goes opensource.
Textpattern will fund itself through an dual license and it’s hosting services called TextDrive .
This is a major movement and another step towards a mini typo3 and for all only bloggers and Moveable Type users it’s a major news at it is a good alternative for them… since the license changes announced for MT 3.0.
So get your blog packed up and move into textpattern .. become part of the community and through in some additions.
I got some things planned and will release them slowly here and there.

Textpattern Roadmap wishes:
- Textpattern should call all txp function calls txp_functionname allowing reserved php keywords as txp-tags
- The backend shouldn’t be static and also be based around plugins to get txp away from this only blog direction.
- The way plugins are packed up and included should be reworked to a more transparent way.
- Mixing of Function-Calls (txp-tag-call -> function) and Variable-Substitution (txp-tag-call -> pretext) should be untangled. (Look at my runlevel getter/setter…)
- RunLevel should become part of the distribution :-)
- The Backend Form Functions should become txp-tags… the hole backend should be txp-tags
